This May Kill You
I recently produced a book full of my poetry.
I’ve been writing these dark humored poems since I was around fifteen but only recently started performing them and eventually produced the first volume of This May Kill You illustrated poems.
Here’s a small preview. If you’re interested in purchasing one please click the Buy Now link on the right of this page.

“Nobody’s Perfect”
3 movies in one day. The Italian Job, Corpse Bride and Some Like It Hot. Complete classics.
I watched Coco Avant Chanel in a tiny theatre in New York with mon Pere and fell in love with the inspirational yet slightly tragic story.
So today I took fashion advice from Audrey Tautou and wore this COS long sleeved top and clipped my usually waist length hair up into a crop.
I think I should cut it, you know what they say, a woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.

Your Just A Cardboard Cut Out Of The Man You Used To Be

Creepers are all I seem to be wearing at the moment.
As soon as I saw them on a member of The Horrors, Alice Dellal and the new Teddy Boys around Carnaby Street I knew I had to have a pair.
Brothel Creepers found their origins in the years following World War II. British soldiers returning from the desert wars had worn suede boots to which they had attached improvised rubber soles made from old rubber tyres. Returning to London, the ex-soldiers made they way to the undesirable “night spots”of Kings Cross and Soho.
They were still wearing this rubber sole footwear or derivatives that had been put together by their cobblers. Creeping around brothels was enough to give the shoes their name.
The Teddy Boys in the 50′s were the first real youth tribe. They based their look on the Edwardian Saville Row renaissance, combining drain pipes, drape jackets and creepers.

However when the 60′s and Mods came along it was out with the creepers and in with the monkey boots. But not for along as the Punk movement began in the late 70′s many were seen along the Kings Road wearing these historical British shoes, they were guaranteed to be worn throughout the decades as the Psychobillies fashioned them in the 80′s and the Rock and Roll revivalists in the 90′s.
In 2007 Nathan Jenden, British fashion designer featured the shoes on his debutant fashion line.

I think its a real juxtaposition with the romantic frills and girly dresses teamed the the sharp and industrial looking creepers. They look amazing in my eyes.

i love you but you just don’t know it
Sorry it has been almost twelve days since my last post, i’ve just been extremely busy with coursework and the trouble with the floods in Cumbria has been pretty overwhelming.
I was visiting Cumbria last weekend for my niece’s christening. The Catholic Church is a load of bullshit.
